Direct Bank Transfer usually means the same thing as “Wire Transfer.” (See Wire Transfers for more information.)

Before communicating with a bank concerning a direct bank transfer into the account of an online gambling website, be sure to gather all the information the bank personnel will need to complete the transaction:

  • Amount
  • Account Name and Number
  • Bank Name and Branch
  • Address
  • ABA Routing Number (if any)
  • SWIFT Address
  • Identification or Comment Field

The SWIFT address is a string of uppercase alpha characters that uniquely identifies the bank and country for purposes of international funds transfers. All banks have them. The ABA Routing Number is an identifier for banks inside the United States. Many foreign banks also have a routing number. The ID or Comment Field may be important for the receiving entity to know who it was that sent them the money. Normally the sender’s name or account number should go in this field.

On rare occasions, a depositor may find that the bank indicated by the gambling website has a nearby branch office. In that case, no “bank-to-bank” transfer is required. Just go to the bank in question, and deposit the money directly into the account in the instructions. Use cash or certified funds to avoid a delay. Some casino customers can open accounts in the same banking system as that used by their casino of choice, so that an “intra-bank” transfer can be made. This can be accomplished instantaneously, without a fee, and often by computer for those using online banking.
