Red Rock
Modern lights illuminate the 87,000 square foot casino, with a broad range of choices including at least 60 gaming tables and more than 600 bingo room seats.
This resort sits farther away from the strip, reaching out to locals looking for some fun. But unlike the other local casinos that offer straight up gambling, the Red Rock still dresses to impress - yet still keeps the prices reasonable for regulars. You can even bring your kids to the resort’s KidsQuest facility, but the casino remains adult-only.
The casino has an open feel; one doesn’t have the sensation that guests and slot machines stacked on top of each other as in some casinos. That doesn’t mean that the casino has sparse casino action, though, because it has plenty.
Red rock updated its sportsbook/racebook room to include giant screen TV’s and smaller individual monitors so that you can keep up-to-date on the action and place informed bets. It even boasts an elite VIP section where one can place bets on all of the major sporting events, from boxing to tennis and NASCAR.
Red Rock casino has over 2,900 slot machines to choose from. They’re constantly updating, though they keep all of the old favorites, including a great selection of video poker. Some games only cost a penny, while the high-roller games cost up to $100.
Red Rock has all the classic table games such as Roulette, Craps, Baccarat and Blackjack. The bingo room has smoking and non-smoking sections, complimentary drinks, at least six selling stations and two keno boards. Play on hand-held color electronic screens and watch the results on one of six LED screens.
The Keno lounge has twenty seats, and you can receive service from one of four Keno writer stations.
Anyone can join the poker room. There’s at least twenty tables with a $2-$4 Limit and a $4-$8 limit with 1/2 kill reaching to $6-$12, meaning that the game’s half, though if the same person wins back-to-back, there’s double blinds and betting, as well as other options.
Seven days a week, you’ll find No Limit Texas Hold-em tournaments handing out $5,000 in chips for a $100 buy-in. Sunday through Thursday, you can get a lower buy-in that can get you $4,000 worth of chips. Before playing, check with the staff, since some casinos have varying rules.
If you live in Vegas, you probably already know about Red Rock. But if you’re a visitor, you’ll find that Vegas has a lot more to offer than just the strip.
