Rio
Rio is a Brazilian-themed resort with a signature colored glass exterior, giving the Rio a simultaneously modern, festive look steeped in the traditions of Rio de Janeiro’s famous Carnival – it has everything but the favelas.
The Rio is a favorite “local’s casinos” in Vegas. With scantly clad waitresses and more than it’s fair share of adult-themed entertainment ,such as the Chippendales, the Rio does not cater to children. While you can certainly check in with your kids, you’re probably better off taking them to a more family-oriented resort.
The Rio has an enormous, colorful and tremendously cheerful casino with over 100,000 square feet of visual amazement. There are over 1,000 slot and video poker machines.
Much of the casino space is dedicated to the Brazilian carnival-style décor, including Carnival-style floats and colorful masks. The hostess will dance samba and even sport fruit headdresses reminiscent of Brazilian bombshell, Carmen Miranda.
The Rio is fast-paced and busy with over 80 tables for full of exciting games including all the staples like baccarat, blackjack, let it ride and Caribbean stud poker. There’s also Asia poker, a game that combines the ancient Chinese game “13” with pai gow poker and American poker. You might not win, but you’ll definitely have a good time.
Rio is also great on comps, bet big or bet a lot and you’ll likely get free food and even a free room.
The Rio poker room, called Texas Hold’Em is a standout and was good enough to attract the World Series of Poker in 2005. In fact, it’s one of the most popular poker rooms in the world.
The poker room dealers are 100% certified World Series of Poker dealers. You’ll find 7-card stud, Omaha, pot limit Omaha, 2-7 triple draw, A-5 triple draw, badugi and many more. They also hold all kinds of tournaments, cash drawings and promotions.
The poker room is right next to the race and sports book. The race and sports book boasts over 50 flat screen TV’s, which will give you closed-circuit broadcasts from some of America’s best racetracks. Watch greyhound and thoroughbred races and take advantage of numerous betting options.
The Rio has a lot of keno action. There are keno stations at the Carnival World Buffet, the Ipanema Lounge and the Sao Paulo Café with thousands of possible number combinations.
The Rio casino is a non-stop party and is sure to keep you up all night enjoying every minute of your Vegas experience.
