Tropicana
You can get to the Tropicana by crossing the pedestrian bridges over one of the busiest parts of Vegas. Seeing the name and the outside décor, you’ll probably guess that you’re in for a South Beach experience. The Tropicana not only provides a unique gaming, but also helps you relax with the newly renovated spa and fitness center.
The Tropicana has to fight hard to stand out, since its located at the Tropicana –Las Vegas Boulevard intersection, which is the intersection with the most hotel rooms in the world. To compete with other greats like MGM and the Excalibur, Tropicana Entertainment flooded $2 billion into a renovation project with the goal of making Tropicana the largest resort casino in the world.
You’ll find some of the best and most innovative slot machines in Vegas at the Tropicana. Try out 50,000 square feet worth of gaming exploits. Readers of the Casino Player Magazine voted Tropicana one of the top three with loose nickel and quarter slots, meaning that your odds of winning are higher.
They have over 2,800 slots to choose from. Games include Triple play Draw Poker, Top Dollar, Spin Poker and Jackpot Party Progressive. The machines release either the traditional coins or ticket vouchers, for easier carrying.
The Crystal Room holds the high limit slots. You’ll find a much more comfortable and elegant ambiance. The denominations range from $1 to $100.
There’s a second premium slot area to boot called the Palm Cove. Check out the Wheel of Fortune, Super Times Pay Poker, Video Roulette, Dollar Link, 3-Reel Dollar, Double Gold and Game of Life. The non-smoking area, called Palm Walk Slots, has 200 games and plush seating.
Play poker 24 hours a day at the Trop Poker Club, with 35 poker tables. Those who play can earn comp dollars that range from 50 cents to $2 an hour. You can apply these dollars to the room price or get discounts on show tickets.
If you’re staying at the Tropicana, you can reserve a poker room for the night, but only if you’ve played for at least four accumulated hours.
The Tropicana Table Games offer classic games like Roulette, Baccarat, Craps and Blackjack. In fact, Casino Player Magazine gave Tropicana the Best Baccarat/Mini-Baccarat award.
Try out many of the new favorites like 3 and 4Card Poker, Let It Ride and Texas Hold’em. The gaming pit has both casino action and live music.
The Tropicana has separate Asian-inspired games in the Jade Palace, including Pai Gow Poker, Pai Gow Tiles and Mini-Baccarat. There’s also Ping’s Noodle Bar, offering Asian-style cuisine.
The Race and Sports Book was recently renovated. Utilize the state-of-the-art eDeck, a mobile gaming device that lets you place race bets whenever. This lighting-fast technology places bets in a matter of milliseconds.
The Race and Sports Book has multiple big-screen televisions, recently added. There’s also plenty of casino games in the room including XtraOdds, XtraOdds Baccarat and Blackjack.
Given that Las Vegas had its modern roots in Mob activity, the Tropicana has decided to construct a 32 room museum with over 1,000 mobster artifacts such as weapons, photos and clothing. There’s also holograms and other devices that’ll display famous mob figures, so you can get a touch of the Vegas history.
