The Grove Wedding Chapel
The Grove Wedding Chapel (The Grove) is a Las Vegas wedding and reception facility located off the Las Vegas strip in the Centennial Hills area. Known as one of the most elegant, classy, and beautiful wedding venues in Las Vegas, there are no flashing marquees or neon lights for this place.
The Grove sits on 3-acres of lush gardens surrounded by panoramic views of stately mountain ranges. It offers a selection of outdoor wedding packages with ceremonies beneath old-fashioned arbors, or on the pricier end, a large garden gazebo. Bride and groom will take their vows in choice settings next to water, almond orchards, or terrace gardens. Wedding packages run $400-$500.
The Garden Terrace reception hall is a large indoor room with white-washed walls and oak floors, which can be rented between $1850-$4700, and can accommodate between 50-250 guests. The Grove’s reception includes everything that you can imagine a reception would include, and The Grove staff handles it all: an elegant dinner, music with a DJ, videography, even a toast to the newly-weds.
Surprisingly enough, The Grove has another interesting attraction. With picturesque mountain-view scenery, babbling brooks, and lush, flower-laden arbors, this venue sets the stage for a wedding made in heaven. But, it also sets the stage for their beloved, attention-grabbing minister.
The Grove’s most popular minister, Reverend Phil Larimore (two ministers perform ceremonies at The Grove, the other is Reverend Jimmy McNamara, a New Yorker, who speaks with a Southern drawl and has his own chuckling claim on fame.), is known for keeping his audience, er, the wedding attendees, in fits and starts of chuckles while administering solemn vows to the bride and groom. Reverend Phil, who doesn’t want to be confused with Dr. Phil because Dr. Phil is bald, but whose Texas heritage makes him sound very much like him, is as well-known in the wedding industry as Dr. Phil is in the entertainment industry.
Reverend Phil has appeared on television, performing wedding ceremonies on NBC (“The Real Wedding Crashers”), ABC (“Extreme Makeovers”), WE (“Bridezilla”),The Discovery Channel (“Monster Garage” and “American Casino”), and The Travel Channel (“Two for Las Vegas”). He’s also made appearances on the Style Channel and Bravo.
He’s been performing wedding ceremonies for over thirty years. His venues include not only The Grove, but also other famous Las Vegas locations, on and off the strip. He has his own website at http://www.lvrev.com, and on his website page called “Phil Sightings”, he’s listed the Secret Garden, Bali Hai Golf Club, Red Rock Country Club, and JW Marriott Hotel, among others, as typical places at which he performs nuptial ceremonies.
The Grove’s wedding services include fees for Reverend Phil (Or Reverend Jimmy); they also include a personalized bridal consultant, traditional wedding music, and the 2-hour use of a limousine service. Obtaining the marriage license, is the couple’s responsibility. But not to worry, the Clark County Clerk’s office is open 7 days a week, 8:00 am to midnight, no waiting period, and no blood test. All they need to do is show up with an ID and proof of age.
For a wedding couple thinking about their vows, Reverend Phil doesn’t have a verbatim wedding ceremony because every wedding is unique. Wedding couples write their own vows, but Reverend Phil will assist them if they have concerns about ceremony content and wording.
Reverend Phil usually doesn’t stick around for wedding pictures, receptions, or dinners, believing that it’s the mothers - not the bride and groom - who think this is necessary. Besides, he doesn’t have time. He’s so popular, he’s got to get to the next wedding, and it just might be at The Grove Wedding Chapel!
