Gambling Federation
Gambling Federation based in Montreal, Canada is an online casino operator with its own software platform, G-Fed, that has been in operation since the late 1990’s.
In 2005, the company ran into problems when players downloaded games from Gambling Federation online casinos and found that the host files on their computers had been intentionally modified to include Malware, without the user’s knowledge. The result was that players were blocked from accessing other casino domains and would receive an error message that read: "website not found".
In response to questions about this issue, Gambling Federation first said that it was an ill thought out response to the numerous spamming e-mails that their customers were receiving from other websites. That response was followed up by Gambling Federation blaming an ex-employee for the spamming e-mails.
Gambling Federation quietly fixed the problem, but having admitted that they’d purposefully installed a Malware in their gaming downloads hurt the company immensely in terms of customer trust.
In 2007, CGTV Games purchased Gambling Federation making it a subsidiary to the B2B online casino and poker software solution provider. However, even as a subsidiary of another company, Gambling Federation still manages over 30 casinos that are either still running on G-Fed software or may have transitioned to the CGTV software.
It’s difficult to tell on some of the casino sites which software is used, or if both CGTV Games and G-Fed software are used. Some online casinos claim G-Fed, while CGTV also claims to be the software provider.
In addition, the Gambling Federation casinos boast many of the same advantage to a players gaming experience as is listed for CGTV Games (same number of language, same number of payment processors.)
According to CGTV their software was tested and certified by TST in 2008. Gambling Federation makes the same claim, however, some of the technology icons on Gambling Federation casino sites claim they are powered by G-Fed, but when clicked on you are taken to CGTV Games’ software certification.
Yet, the software is no longer deemed a problem as much as is the management of the Gambling Federation online casinos. There have been many reports of nonpayment, and non-responsiveness to players trying to get their money, as well as ethical violations.
As recently as 2011, the Gambling Federation listed themselves as being a Gambling Federal Webmaster Association (GPWA) and an Association of Players, Casinos, and Webmasters (APCW) certified program, having included the organizations’ logos on their online casino websites. However, it was confirmed by GPWA that Gambling Federation was, in fact, not a members of the programs – GPWA and APCW are affiliates of each other.
Most of Gambling Federation’s many online casinos have been blacklisted with warnings recommending that players steer clear of all of Gambling Federation’s online casinos.
