
The Gold Strike is a roadside hotel and casino in Jean Nevada, on the road between LA and Las Vegas. It is near the state line, and a quick 25 mile drive to the Las Vegas Strip. It is 10 miles from Jean Lake. The property is fairly large and bright. The casino provides table games and slot machines. There are 812 rooms. One promotional novelty is that they provide comps at the casino in the form of gas for the ride to or from Las Vegas. There is a second, related property in Jean, and the points earned toward comps in one property are also valid at the other. On Monday nights dancing lessons followed by four hours of open, social dancing are provided to guests and locals for a small cover charge.
The casino has more than 800 video poker, keno and video slot machines. In addition a few table games are offered, including craps, roulette and blackjack. Caribbean stud and some other special variations are also available.
The Gold Strike Steakhouse will feed the traveler’s appetite with steaks, seafood and chicken, topped off with steakhouse-style desserts. Sundays there is a champagne brunch. At the Bonanza Buffet diners can choose from more than 40 different items. There is a crab leg buffet on Fridays. The Gold Rush Café stays open round the clock with a complete menu. Finally, there is a snack bar near the casino for the gambler on the run.
There is an outdoor pool, open in the summer months.
The Gold Strike is prepared to cater wedding receptions, family reunions and meeting of different kinds through its banquet facility.
