Strike Some Scorching Shots 'Soaring' Skyward at the Aliante Golf Club

Aliante – which is Italian for 'Soaring' – will certainly have your balls doing just that. This modern championship course runs to an admiral length of 7,022 yards. Coupled with generous fairways, Aliante makes for a golf course where the driver is the obvious solution off the tee in all but a handful of circumstances.

One of the newer courses here in Sin City and open since December 2003, it was designed by the renowned architect Gary Panks and is managed by OB Sports Golf Management. It is a semi-private club and community - with excellent member's amenities and a fully equipped practice area.

This 18 hole course is the centerpiece of the latest master planned Del Webb community, located just 20-30 minutes North of the Las Vegas strip. If planning for a group then you should inquire about the club's complimentary shuttle service that is availbale to book – both to and from the golf club.

The first nine holes here meander through hundreds of pear trees and shrubs, while the back nine climb through Mondale pines and locust trees. The looming mountains provide an impressive backdrop to the well presented and manicured features on display.

While the course is mostly level, virtually every hole at the Aliante feature groomed arroyo – dried out river creek beds – as an additional hazard. There is a little room for error when playing here, but thankfully the bunkers aren't horribly deep - making this a mid-handicappers delight.

Aliante Golf Club presents itself as a pleasant mid-level golf course in the Las Vegas area, with solid and amiable course conditions from tee to green and suitable hole variety. While it winds through the residential properties – it's well manicured assortment of plant and tree life help to maintain a pleasant ambiance. It's self evident that the keepers of the course pay special attention to its maintenance and conditioning.
Keeping inline with the design philosophy Gary Panks, the golf course is not heinesly difficult if you're playing from the right set of tee boxes (there are four to choose from). Most trouble can be averted with a little advance thinking. Greens here have subtle breaks in most key spots, and few putts will break much more than a few inches, so keen and able putters will be salivating for the finish.
Another credit to the course design is it's ability to be finished in four hours or less despite the routing and difficulty of the circuit – the holes here rarely backing up with players waiting to tee off.
As promised earlier, the great Club amenities on offer include a driving range, a short game area complete with a chipping and putting green, as well as a practice bunker. There is also a bar and grill that provide a full lunch and dinner menu for you to refresh yourself.
