With mesmerizing views from a sun-baked plateau, Falcon Ridge could not have been laid out amid more scenic territory. Occupying an elevated plain in the heart of Virgin Valley, Mesquite, the newly laid out course tempts young and mature alike with the promise of an equally dramatic game.

Falcon Ridge originally opened it's doors in February 2004 with a dramatic nine-hole layout, designed by Kelby Hughes and Crescent Hardy. Wrapped around the hills of Northwest Mesquite, the strategic links course quickly attracted attention for it's bent-grass greens, blind-shots and ultra-wide fairways. The very first shot serves up a demanding par-5 at 500 yards, engaging your attention with a deceptive dog-leg bend to the right and a 50 ft steep decline afoot the green. Hole 2 continues the journey amid the bluffs and beauty of Virgin Valley, offering a testing par-3 across 144 yards, with a water hazard separating you from the green and a clear shot.

Similar in character to the capricious back nine at The Palms with endless elevations and compromising tee positioning, Falcon Ridge serves up a mean roller-coaster game to contrast the manicured first nine. Expect forces to carry across many of the holes, sheer drops and three-sixty panoramas from nearly every tee. Falcon Ridge has become renowned for the challenge of it's 420 yard, par-4 6th, yet even the prospect of a 70 foot sheer drop between you and the green is considered tamer than the run-around of the back course. If the terrain doesn't outsmart you, the serenity will almost certainly distract.

Golf vacations are popular within the sport host town of Mesquite, however if you truly seek to experience the mystique of sheer canyon landscapes and a golf course seemingly carved out by nature itself, Falcon Ridge is truly your best bet. Relax post-game at popular Scotty's Bar and Grill, where the welcome is as warm as the midday Nevada sun.
