Royal Links
"The Soul Of Scotland. The Adventure of Las Vegas"
As any student of golf history will tell you – Scotland is the ancestral home of our beloved game. If you’re unable to take a trip “across the pond,” then perhaps you should pay a visit to the Royal Links in Las Vegas instead.
Located just 20 minutes away from the strip and only 15 minutes from Downtown – this links enabled course offers a plethora of challenging holes that will even test the wits of those with the steadiest of nerves.
Set against the backdrop of the Nevada desert one could easily forget where you were in Vegas if it weren't for the dry heat and beautiful weather. That's because not only are the holes modeled after some of the trickiest ones found in the British Open, but also being as this is Las Vegas, it comes complete with additional quirks of a particularly British nature.
From the clubhouse shaped like a castle, through to the tavern-like bar that accompanies it – the atmosphere is more reminiscent of a British golf club than a luxury Las Vegas golf course – all just a hop, skip and a jump from the Las Vegas strip.
But such details aside, it’s the holes themselves that really set this club apart from some of the others on offer in Las Vegas. After all, where else can you find such legendary holes like the 'Postage Stamp' from Royal Troon or the 'Hell Bunker' from St. Andrews all in one place? Not to mention plenty of other legendary classics, such as 'Royal Liverpool', 'Muirfield', 'Prestwick', 'Turnberry', 'Carnoustie' , 'Royal Birkdale' and many more!
While hiring a caddy isn't a must – on a course that is as difficult as this one – it is probably a good idea. And what better caddy to select then one of the beautiful and all female Par Mates that are available to hire for the day as your own private hostess – a sure way to enhance an already first class experience.
With so many of the holes exhibiting such typically Scottish inspired designs – you can be assured to find plenty of unique and challenging obstacles to avoid as you try to make par. Deep, hidden bunkers feature prominently - you know they mean business when you have to use the steps provided to enter their deep bowels with the steeply inclined walls.
As well as the Castle clubhouse offering a pub-like establishment to refresh yourself with English (and American) food and beverages – there is also a FootJoy shoe rental shop and Calloway clubs for hire or purchase. Of course with so much history being intertwined with the holes, you’ll find plenty of other quality merchandise to choose from with lots of historical and collectible memorabilia on offer.
Week days: $100 - $250
Week-ends: $100 - $250
In the Las Vegas tradition of creating replicas of landmarks from other places, this links course patterns it holes after courses in Scotland and England, and has a castle for a clubhouse. Caddies are highly recommended. (I-15 north to US 95 south to Flamingo Exit. Left on Flamingo to Nellis Boulevard. Left on Nellis to Vegas Valley Road. Right on Vegas Valley 1 mile to gate for course on the right.)
