31900 Las Vegas Blvd, Primm, Nevada 89109

This resort is one of three that sit virtually on the state line between Nevada and California, 40 miles or so from the Las Vegas Strip. It is an “Old West” theme resort. Two towers offer 1,242 guest rooms and suites.

In addition to gaming and dining, Buffalo Bill’s has rides: The Desperado is said to be one of the world’s fastest and highest roller coasters. There is also the Turbo Drop and a splashy Log Flume ride. The 3D simulation called the Vault is also popular with families.

The casino follows the theme of the Old West. It has 45,000 square feet of space in which 39 table games and poker are played. Gamblers may choose among craps, roulette, black-jack and different forms of poker (including stud and Hold’em). There are also over 1,700 slot and video machines in the casino as well as a race and sports book.

Tony Roma’s is known for barbecued ribs but there are other tempting entrees on the menu, including shrimp, chicken and steak. Specialties include the onion loaf and potato soup. Miss Ashley’s Boarding House Buffet advertises home cooking for the whole family. There is also the Wagonmaster Coffee Shop, which continues the Old West theme of the whole property.

Buffalo Bill’s has a 6,500 person venue called the Star of the Desert Arena. It has served as the host to many acts including Engelbert Humperdink, Gladys Knight, Chicago, Brooks and Dunn, B.B. King, Reba McIntyre, Melissa Etheridge and John Michael Montgomery. In Buffalo Bill’s Stage Bar, the host provides a more intimate setting for a lounge, and books some of the best talent local to Las Vegas to perform. The stage also doubles as a dance floor. The Carolee Theatre at Buffalo Bill’s shows some of the most current and popular films.

The outdoor pool is inviting and, not surprisingly, shaped like a buffalo.
