Caesars Palace, one of the original hotels and casinos on the Las Vegas Strip, was made famous by the many movies set there and by their entertainers, such as Frank Sinatra, Liberace, George Burns, Diana Ross, Cher, Julio Iglesias, David Copperfield, and Gloria Estefan. The hotel is called "Caesars" and not "Caesar's" because the founder felt that every guest should be treated like a Caesar.
The Colosseum at Caesars Palace is a 4,000-seat concert venue. It is a state-of-the art facility, custom-designed for a spectacular theatrical production A New Day... starring Celine Dion. Bette Midler has been announced as Dion's formal replacement in 2007. Elton John will continue to perform his popular Red Piano show, which is an acclaimed overview of his career. The Colosseum also hosts many other entertainment events, and is home to some the best-known entertainers in the world including Jerry Seinfeld.
Caesars offers additional attractions including: a showroom of exotic cars, a free show called "The Fall of Atlantis," a free show called "Festival Fountain," and two 36,000 square foot nightclubs: Pure (progressive DJs, awesome views and sexy style) and The Pussycat Dolls. Caesars has also opened the Roman Plaza, an open-air area with a café on the corner.
The 4½ acre Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis provides four pools and two whirlpool spas, surrounded by lawns, fountains and classic statues. The circular Temple Pool is the main attraction, with its 10,000 square feet of flowing water, covered by a rotunda in the central island. The pools are decorated with fine stone -- marble and granite -- and trimmed in mosaics. The Neptune Pool is a 5,000-square-foot rectangular heated pool used mainly for laps. The Venus Pool is the place for sun bathing, offering twelve poolside cabanas.
When "The Forum Shops at Caesars" opened; it was one of the first venues in which shopping at high-end stores became an attraction in itself. The Forum Shops feature one of only two circular escalators in the USA. The Forum Shops include more than 160 boutiques with world famous names on their storefronts, as well as 13 restaurants and specialty food shops. The "Appian Way Shops" are located in a quiet shopping arcade, accented by a life-size replica of Michelangelo's David. Here the shopper can browse through the finest selections of chocolate, apparel, gifts, art and jewelry.
