Cannery

The Cannery is a hotel and casino on 28 acres in the expanding North Las Vegas area, near Nellis Air Force Base. Operating since 2003, this casino resort has a late '40's, post-war theme and feel, when canneries were common. An expansion in 2004 added a number of amenities to the resort's offerings. The hotel now has 201 rooms, an outdoor pool, a Jacuzzi and a movie theater. The real attractions, however, are the casino and the watering holes.

The casino is a moderate-sized 50,000 square feet, offering 21 tables for table games and 1,275 slot machines, keno and video poker machines of all kinds. Games offered include low-minimum-bet blackjack variations, Pai Gow Poker, craps, roulette, and various kinds of stud and Hold'em in the poker room. The poker room is another 3,000 square feet of space (non-smoking) with twelve tables. A race and sports book that was remodeled in 2006 has all the latest video technology and 130 seats for wagers. Finally, the Cannery pro-vides a 288-seat Bingo Room, offering 8 different sessions every day.

Waverly's Steakhouse treats guests to the almost required steakhouse fare of steaks, chops, seafood and other dishes. They pride themselves on their Oysters Rockefeller. Victory's Café is a large, World War II-theme restaurant decorated with murals from the art dis-played on the noses of bombers. Next to the casino, this restaurant never closes. Guests can grab a quick lunch or snack, or linger for a more relaxed pace of dining. A complete bar, Booze & Bets, is part of the restaurant area. Cannery Row Buffet is the de rigueur Las Ve-gas buffet offering of the Cannery. Casa Cocina is a Mexican restaurant with an "express" annex for take-out service.

The Aliante Golf Club has an arrangement with the Cannery so that Guests of the re-sort are welcomed there.

The expansion of the Cannery in 2006 provided it with 7,500 square feet of meeting space, centered around the Club venue, that is offered for meetings and special events. Full catering service is also offered.

The Club at the Cannery is an outdoor venue with a large capacity for musical events, shows and other entertainment. It is also offered for meetings and private parties. Victory's Booze & Bets is a bar with twelve large TV screens for sports fans. Pin-Ups is the main lounge in the resort, which carries through, of course, with the main retro theme. The circular bar displays pictures of the famous calendar girls that consoled GI's during World War II. This venue books live entertainment periodically. Galaxy is a modern movie theater with 14 screens, room for 3,550 viewers, and first-run movies for guests of the resort.

The Cannery provides an outdoor pool and Jacuzzi for its guests.
