The Golden Nugget was Las Vegas' first casino, starting operations in 1946. Since then it has been renovated and rebuilt several times. The Golden Nugget books headline performers into its 600-seat show facility. In addition, several other shows are available to the guest. Among them is Defending the Caveman, a well-known Broadway hit. The Golden Nugget's $30-million pool is called The Tank. It features a 200,000-gallon shark habitat, a 30-foor waterslide and luxurious cabanas. Guests can swim within inches of these sea creatures. The unique waterslide permits the adventurous to dive down a course that crosses through the shark tank.
