This resort, formerly a Hyatt Regency property, is on the shores of Lake Las Vegas (a private lake near Lake Meade). Lake Las Vegas is outside of Henderson, Nevada, 17 or so miles from the Las Vegas Strip. This resort has a version of Morocco-Mediterranean-style architecture, focused on its own natural surroundings and the lake, which dominates its setting. There is no casino. Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort has 493 guest rooms (including 16 suites), numerous dining alternatives, a spa, some upscale golfing options, a luxurious pool area and many lake-related activities.
Guests at Loews Lake Las Vegas Resort may play at the Reflection Bay Golf Club, which proudly maintains a Jack Nicklaus championship, 18-hole course. Another option is the Falls Golf Club, which offers a course designed by Tom Weiskopf and a large area for practice. Both have instruction and a pro shop.
Another activity available to guests at the resort is a cruise of Lake Mead, which includes a visit to the Hoover Dam.
Marssa is a contemporary, Asian-style fine dining restaurant with gorgeous views of the natural surroundings. Sushi is available as well as many creative and delicious entrees. Café Tajine provides breakfast as well as a full menu of European-style meals with a touch of North African flavor. The Sandsa Bar & Grill is the pool restaurant, specializing in lighter fare, like salads and sandwiches. The Marrakesh Express is designed to be an upscale coffee and snack bar serving healthy and quick food and Starbucks Coffee.
Spa Moulay is Moroccan in its look and feel. Guests may ask for a massage, skin therapies, body wraps or scrubs in one of the several treatment rooms. Facials for moisturizing the skin are also offered. The Harem's Blend is a treatment unique to this spa, in which scented oils and spices are applied. The spa also houses a complete fitness center with weight train-ing and cardiovascular conditioning equipment. Guests will also find at the spa a full service, salon that will do nails, pedicures, waxing, hair cutting and styling, and coloring. Re-laxation rooms are provided in the locker areas.
The resort is able to provide 100,000 square feet of space for meetings and conventions, of which a little less than half is indoors. One large (20,580 square feet) ballroom is available. There are several board rooms and meeting rooms with flexible configurations for smaller groups and breakout sessions. Loews has the staff and the technology to support any guest's requirements for a business retreat, meeting or special event.
Guests will enjoy drinks before dinner and nightcaps at the Arabesque Lounge, which carries through on the Moroccan décor of the property.
There is an activity pool with views of the lake, including a waterslide and a swimming lagoon. A smaller pool for kids is adjacent. There is a deeper pool on the upper deck, together with cabanas and sunbathing furniture. The lake is also available for fun. There is a sandy beach there, and guests can launch into the lake itself with kayaks, canoes, electric motor boats or paddle boats.
Loews Lake Las Vegas is a venue for weddings. Ceremonies can be planned for outdoor sites with views of the lake and mountains behind. The Casablanca Ballroom is used as a venue for indoor weddings, and of course, all the details of officiant, and catering.
