3400 Las Vegas Boulevard South, Las Vegas Strip, Nevada 89109

The Mirage, a famous and popular hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, boasts one of Las Vegas' most recognizable landmarks: the erupting volcano. Entering visitors can hear waterfalls, smell flowers and see the lagoon and volcano view from a bridge that stands underneath the roof of a 9-story atrium with a glass ceiling. Once in the lobby, the guest will be able to see an enormous aquarium that provides habitat to dozens of tropical fish species. The tropical theme is carried throughout the hotel.

The Volcano A peaceful waterfall during the daylight hours, the Mirage volcano comes to life once darkness falls. After a few moments of threatening silence, the water begins to churn and from the heart of the once-quiet volcano there is emitted a low rumbling. Then orange and red flames leap about 100 feet above the water, illuminating the night sky. As the fire spreads across the lagoon, bystanders can feel the heat. After several smaller explosions, the volcano goes dormant once more.

Secret Garden -- White Tiger Habitat Siegfried & Roy's white tigers, a famous and popular attraction on the Strip, have found a home in a special white tiger habitat at The Mirage. White tigers can be seen strolling throughout the habitat, sometimes basking in the sun or enjoying the water, either the pool in the middle of their habitat or the waterfall. In a separate attraction called "The Secret Garden," Siegfried and Roy have made a refuge for lions, a black panther, a snow leopard, an Asian leopard, an African leopard and a rare heterozygous tiger, capable of producing pure white, white striped and golden striped litters.

The Mirage has also established a dolphin habitat, though animals are not made to perform at this research facility. The public can often catch an impromptu trick or two during playtime with staff members. The 2.5-million-gallon facility includes a viewing tank. Seven Atlantic bottlenose dolphins live here, including Duchess, 28, the matriarch of the group and the mother to four of the other dolphins, including Squirt, 13.

The large casino houses all the excitement the gaming public has come to expect: roulette, craps, baccarat and blackjack. Guests can also play the newer games, like Pai Gow, Caribbean stud and Let It Ride, and also many different poker games in the poker room. Throughout the hotel guests can play keno and more than 2,000 different slot machines.

The race and sports book reflects the resort's upscale ambitions. An expansive race area sits beside the sports book. Horseplayers have individual TV monitors, while large screens dominate both the race and sports sections.

Stack is a hip alternative to the many formal dining establishments in Las Vegas, presenting food and service in a comfortable and modern setting. In addition to steak, Stack offers classic items with a creative twist, such as the cheese-filled adult tater tots. It is designed to be a diverting and nostalgic dining experience.

Fin may be the most elegant Chinese restaurant in the entire country. The extensive menu includes exotic delicacies and more familiar favorites. Fin's main dining room seats up to 76 guests. Two uniquely-decorated private dining rooms can hold up to eight guests each.

Kokomo's is an all-American restaurant. It serves golden crab cakes with plenty of substance, a lobster bisque now permanently on the menu, and many steak and seafood options.

Samba Grill captures the spirit of a Brazilian steak house or rodizio -- unlimited servings of marinated meats, poultry and fish. Each meal includes a bottomless bowl of Samba Salad, side dishes of creamed spinach, black beans and rice, fried sweet bananas, potato cakes and tasty breads.

The Carnegie, a New York City deli institution since 1937, launched its only outpost outside New York City at The Mirage, and it has been a hit since the beginning.

The Cirque du Soleil production of LOVE is presented in a 2,000 seat theatre with the most modern of sound systems. LOVE combines dance, acrobatics, psychedelic visual and sound effects and rock 'n' roll music in a tribute to the Beatles. The show nostalgically relives the '60s, politically and artistically, and retells the history of the Beatles in the presentation of almost 30 well-known Beatles hits.

Renowned impressionist Danny Gans performs his comedy act nightly in a theater named, logically enough, the Danny Gans Theater. When he is not there, the Mirage books headline entertainers, such as Ray Romano. This venue can seat 1,260 in the audience.

Shadow Creek. Guests at the Mirage may decide to play a round of golf at the acclaimed Shadow Creek course. Designed by well-known golf architect Tom Fazio, Shadow Creek provides the golfer the natural beauty of rolling terrain, running creeks, lush gardens and views of the mountains. The other option is to try the Primm Valley Resorts Golf Course, which is one of the most desired golf outings in Las Vegas. Golfers have their choice of two courses - the Lakes and the Desert - which have been recognized as among the nation's top one hundred public courses by a Golf Magazine review.

The Spa Mirage was a pioneer in Vegas' trend towards luxurious spas and it continues its tradition of elegant relaxation. Separate facilities for men and women are offered, each with steam rooms, saunas and Jacuzzis. For women the spa also provides hydrotherapy facilities and offers aromatherapy, mud and seaweed baths. The Spa Mirage offers many massage treatments, including hot stone and Swedish. A fully-equipped fitness center is available with free weights and weight machines, as well as cardiovascular training equipment.

More than 170,000 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting space will accommodate groups of five to 5,000, including a 40,000 square foot pillar-free Grand Ballroom with a recessed stage and 26 meeting rooms, each equipped for presentations or small receptions.

Jet is a nightclub that simultaneously provides an intimate lounge atmosphere and a big-party vibe all under one roof. The 15,000-square-foot nightclub, operated by the experts of the Light Group, delivers a multi-sensory experience through its use of three distinctive rooms, each one featuring a different DJ, musical style and atmosphere.

The Revolution, the Mirage's lounge devoted to the Beatles, keeps the Rock 'n' Roll legend alive but with a modern twist on '60s psychedelic imagery, sound and decor. Revolution Lounge reflects the true and lasting musical influence of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

Landscaping makes the Mirage's pool seem more like a tropical garden than a pool. During the warmer months, this area also features Bare, the pool club sure to keep the party hot and sizzling. Bare is managed by the same group that operates the Light nightclub at Bellagio. The pool club offers a different approach to the Las Vegas pool party venue. Guests relax in private areas surrounded by lush palm trees, the sparkling blue pool, two inviting dipping pools and private daybeds. Guests may also choose to partake in European-style (topless) bathing.

The Mirage calls its shopping area "The Street of Shops." There the guest will find many clothing and jewelry boutiques for women, some by very famous designers. Offerings include causal and formal clothing, shoes and handbags, and all sorts of accessories. Shops include OPTICA, The Golf Shop, Blue, Actique, D. Fine, DKNY, The Mirage Collection and The Golf Shop.
