The Monte Carlo is an MGM Mirage hotel on the Las Vegas Strip at the south end, across from the MGM Grand and adjacent to New York New York. It is built in the Mediterranean Riviera theme of its elegant European namesake. Guests are welcomed into the property through an archway decorated with fountains and classical statuary. The Monte Carlo Resort has 2,743 deluxe rooms and 259 suites.

The Monte Carlo’s casino is spacious with 90,000 square feet dedicated to gaming of all kinds. The gaming tables offer newer games (like Texas Hold’em, Caribbean stud, Pai Gow Poker, crazy 4 poker, Let it Ride®, big six) and the traditional choices of baccarat, roulette, craps and blackjack. The casino also offers over 1,700 slot machines and video poker games, in denominations from a penny to $25. Most are the more modern variety, but sev-eral “reel” machines are around for the traditionalist. In a separate poker room the casino offers Texas Hold’em games in minimums of $2, $3 and $4 and no limit. The casino also offers instruction in poker games as well as frequent poker tournaments. Monte Carlo’s Race and Sports Book has space for 100, with 15 televisions and a 12’ by 12’ projection screen. The book offers betting lines of all sorts for major professional and college sports and all major races.

André’s French Restaurant echoes the elegant feel of the French Riviera. Chef André offers the best of haut cuisine and a wine list to go with it. Blackstone’s Steak House is everything a Las Vegas steakhouse is supposed to be, but with some added touches. The bernaise sauce for the steaks is authentic. There are crab cakes and oysters on the half shell, and unusual offerings like pâté de foie gras and tacos made with Kobe beef.

The Dragon Noodle provides, as its name suggests, Asian cuisine, especially noodle dishes, and traditional Cantonese and Szechwan entrees.

The Market City Caffé brings tasty dishes from Southern Italy to Las Vegas. The menu includes pizza and pasta as well as steak and other meat en-trees, and Italian appetizers.

The Buffet specializes in variety. Diners can choose from several stations providing made-to-order Mongolian grill, pasta, turkey and prime rib.

The Café is open all the time, and offers a complete menu of meals and lighter fare in a casual setting. The food court gives the guest on the run a choice among McDonalds, Häagen Dazs, Sbarro’s, Starbucks and Subway.

Club Casino Royal is a lounge with live performances from time to time and lively music all of the time. Houdini’s Lounge is a quieter location for meeting a friend and having a conversation. Piano music is provided several nights per week. The Monte Carlo Brew Pub is a place for fun, with live music from a Prince look-alike band and recorded music by a DJ. For sports fans, over 40 flat screen TV’s and one big screen are in operation. The pub has a full menu including steaks, pizza, burgers and other meals, as well as several micro-brew options.

Lance Burton Theater. Lance Burton is one of Las Vegas’ most acclaimed magicians. Permanently settled in the theater that bears his name, this entertainer provides sell out audiences lots of thrills and illusions with his show.

The golf concierge can arrange tee times for guests at any one of several local golf courses, including the three courses at Stallion Mountain Golf Club, Desert Pines, Bali Hai, and Royal Links.

The Spa at Monte Carlo provides over 13,000 square feet of space for massage, hydration treatments, facials, and all the other pampering procedures. The spa area also includes a full service beauty salon for manicures, pedicures, cosmetics and all hair cuts and styling services. A separate barber shop is located nearby. The fitness center offers 3,000 square feet of machines for strength and cardiovascular training and free weights. This is a “Reebok Facility.” Personal trainers are available. The men’s and women’s locker areas also have steam baths, saunas and hot tubs.

Monte Carlo is equipped with several rooms that can be easily adapted to accommodate groups up to 1,800 for meetings and special events. A catering staff is available to handle the food and beverage details, and the hotel provides a full-service business center and staff to assist with the audio-visual/presentation equipment, computer, support, copying, faxes and other requirements of the client.

The Monte Carlo has given over a half-acre to the pool area, offering a lazy river, a wave pool, waterfall, a lagoon pool, a heated whirlpool, an enclosed pool for young children, and lots of landscaping. A poolside bar takes care of all drink requirements. Swank cabanas are available for rental.

The Street of Dreams is an area reserved for dining and shopping. Retail outlets include stores named Reflections, Classics, and Collections. There are shops called Bag Mania, Elton’s, Indulge, Medici (cigars), Lunettes (eyewear) and Bubbles. Lance Burton has opened a Magic Shop there. Throughout the property guests will find other shops like Lucien, the Monte Carlo Boutique, Bijoux Terner (accessories under $10), and Nouveau News.

The hotel’s tennis courts are found within the pool area. Guests may schedule play times, obtain instruction and attend frequent clinics held by the pros.

Monte Carlo has an elegant indoor chapel for weddings, and also offers several picturesque outdoor venues. Several packages are offered for weddings or renewals of vows, including the catering for the parties, the supplies and personnel for the ceremony and all the other details (like transportation, flowers, music, and photography). Translation is available for Spanish and Japanese guests.
