"Coast Casinos" is a trade name used by Boyd Gaming to promote several properties, including the Orleans Hotel and Casino (and the Orleans Arena), Suncoast, Gold Coast, and Sam's Town. The casinos are all linked by Club Coast, a player's rewards system, in which one earns points towards comps and discounts by playing games at any of the casinos. The Orleans is one of two Coast Casinos on or near the Strip (the other being Gold Coast).
This festive hotel and casino is based on a theme suggesting New Orleans at Mardi Gras time. It is a couple of blocks off the famous Las Vegas Strip. The Orleans offers 1,886 rooms and suites, and the rooms have separate parlor areas.
The Orleans Bowling Center has 70 lanes, and all the other features of a modern bowling facility, including lessons and coaching, a pro shop, tournament play, a video arcade, meeting rooms, and a bar and restaurant on premises. Century Orleans 18 is an eighteen-screen, full featured cinema complex with first-run movies.
The large casino (135,000 square feet) provides over 3,000 slot machines, video poker and video keno machines. Table games include craps and roulette, Pai Gow poker and baccarat, Let it Ride, and of course, blackjack in various forms. The poker room has 23 tables for stud and Hold'em, as well as Omaha and hi-lo versions. There is a keno lounge that never closes, accommodating 60 persons. The race and sports book has room for 125 patrons, with high resolution large screen TVs, several betting windows, and LED reader boards.
Canal Street is a steak and seafood restaurant in the New Orleans tradition, offering also many other entrees, appetizers and sides. The Prime Rib Loft has a view of the casino, and is designed for more casual dining, but with a large selection of dishes from a menu de-signed for all appetites. Big Al's Oyster Bar serves oysters on the half shell and clams in many forms as well as many other Cajun favorites. The flavor is Creole. The French Mar-ket Buffet offers a sampling of foods from around the world. Patrons may choose among dishes from Mexico, Mongolia, China, and Italy, as well as from barbecue, seafood and other American selections. Don Miguel's is a Mexican restaurant with a fully-equipped margarita bar and a tortillería. The Courtyard Cafe is the Orleans' Coffee Shop, open 24 hours. It also serves Chinese food and many New Orleans dishes.
Sazio is an old-world trattoria, tempting diners with traditional northern Italian seafood, chicken and veal dishes. Koji combines both delicious Chinese cuisine with the best of Japan in a sushi bar and restaurant frequented often by the Las Vegas locals. If this selection does not satisfy everyone in the family, the Orleans also offers a TGI Friday's® and a Sub-way®. Seattle's Best Coffee also has an outlet at the Orleans.
The co-located Orleans Arena has space for many thousands of fans, and puts on as many as 175 events per year, professional athletic events and expositions as well as big-name concerts. Examples include arena football, hockey, boxing and moto-cross and monster truck events. The arena has hosted the Harlem Globetrotters, the Barnum & Bailey Circus. The video and sound system was designed for the demands of big musical events. Entertainers who have performed there include the Smothers Brothers, the Four Tops, the Beach Boys, George Carlin, the Osmonds and Jim Belushi. The Orleans Showroom can accommodate 827 in its audience. It has booked well-known entertainers like Frankie Avalon, Debbie Reynolds, Bobby Rydell and Air Supply. The Bourbon Street Cabaret also books live entertainment for up to 140 in the audience. This is a bar/lounge with a true piano bar décor: pianos are hanging from the ceiling. Brendan's Irish Pub is a truly Irish drinking experience with the beer and stout, the atmosphere, and live Irish entertainment on certain nights.
The Spa Orleans has a professional staff to give massages, body treatments and facials in at atmosphere of relaxed elegance. A complete fitness center is also available to hotel guests.
The Orleans has created a 40,000 square-foot facility for meetings, conventions, exhibits, receptions, banquets and other business events. The space is flexible, and can be configured to the needs of the client, whether for board meetings, breakout sessions, large seminars or social events. The rooms all are fully equipped for a client's requirements for lighting, sound and visual presentations. A meeting planning staff is available to assist with the details. A business center provides service support and a complete banquet and catering staff provide the hospitality and food.
The Orleans' pool is circular, with a deck and gazebo and landscaping all around. The edge of the pool offers lots of wading areas and a whirlpool. There is a pool bar, and cabanas that can be rented. In summer months, the Orleans has a pool party on Fridays called Jazz at the Orleans.
