Sam's Town is on Flamingo Avenue, six miles east of the Las Vegas Strip, at the intersection with Boulder Highway. It has 648 rooms and suites in a large, majestic building, which surrounds a large garden atrium in the middle, nine floors below. Every night in Mystic Falls Park, which is the name of the 25,000 square foot atrium, Sam's Town presents Sun-set Stampede, a light and water show with animatronic wildlife as the cast. Also in the hotel is a 56-lane bowling alley, an 18-screen movie theater and a child care center, all of which makes this property a convenient alternative for traveling families. Parking is plentiful and free. There is also a 500-space RV park on the property with full hook-ups and recreational facilities.
Sam's Town was established by Sam Boyd in 1979 and is part of the Boyd group of casinos. Shuttle service is provided to the Boyd properties in Downtown Las Vegas and on the Strip.
The Casino at Sam's Town is large, 150,000 square feet on three levels. It has a 500-seat bingo room with 8 daily sessions, a 316-seat race and sports book, a keno lounge, a poker room, and a large gaming floor. There are 3300 slot and video poker machines, of which 600 of the latest varieties are in a separate "skylight casino" area. The Prime Rewards pro-gram is the players' program for accumulating points towards comps, gifts and cash back prizes. Table games include craps in many different variations, blackjack, and roulette with minimum bets from 25¢ to $100 and up to $2,000 on even money. Caribbean stud, mini-baccarat, Let it Ride and Pai Gow poker are also available. In the separate poker room, dealers provide seven card stud, Texas Hold'em in three denominations plus no-limit, and Omaha. The race and sports book provides over five dozen of the latest technology TVs and big screens, and the comforts of free cocktails and snacks. Daily lines and other wagers are available on professional and college sports, auto racing, boxing, golf, horse racing or dog racing (no-limit pari-mutuel).
Billy Bob's Steak House & Saloon is a tasty steakhouse, right of the Old West. There's a patio lounge and a cigar bar with a view of the atrium.
Willy and Jose's Cantina serves authentic Mexican food with beef, chicken or shrimp. There's a large choice of entrees, sauces and levels of spiciness.
Fellini's is an Italian restaurant right in the atrium area (Mystic Falls Park), serving pastas and fine dining entrees in the Northern Italian tradition.
The Fresh Harvest Café offers everything from steaks to burgers, pastas and sandwiches, as well as a full breakfast menu.
The Firelight Buffet specializes in rotisserie dishes and serves lots of the locals' buffet favorites.
For guests on the run, there is a food court with burgers, Chinese food, pizza and desserts.
Sam's Town Live! is a 1,100-seat entertainment venue that books headline entertainers like Creedence Clearwater Revival Revisited, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kenny Loggins, and Clay Walker. The venue also books local live entertainment and radio shows.
Sam's has 30,000 square feet of facilities for meetings and banquets, including a large ballroom. Meeting planners are on staff to assist with the configuration of the room or rooms and the audio-visual aspects.
Roxy's Lounge books local lounge acts and high-energy rock bands. It has room for 100 partiers, with a dance floor and a high-tech sound system.
The pool is a heated, outdoor pool, with a Jacuzzi along side. Cabanas are available for rental. A bar and snack bar operates Thursdays through Sundays.
Sam's offers its indoor atrium area as a beautiful venue for a marriage ceremony, as well as a separate area that overlooks the park. Staff members can assist with planning the event as well as the parties before and the reception afterward. Several different packages are available, both for the ceremony and the reception.
