Brand Lounge
By day, the cosmopolitan experience that is BRAND Lounge at the Monte Carlo Hotel, lures hungry Las Vegas visitors with the rare aromas of wood-grilled Filet Mignon and Tobacco Onions permeating the air. BRAND is the newest introduction by flashy restaurant brand “The Light Group”, who sought to bring their sophisticated line of prime clubs and bars to Las Vegas back in 2000. BRAND Lounge mirrors much the decadent simplicity of sister property Caramel at the Bellagio. With an open plan interior, lashings of flattering light and a menu devised by acclaimed Executive Chef Brian Massie - it's yet another winning recipe in the Light Group lounge-restaurant portfolio.
Owned by trend-setting nightclub impresarios Andrew Sasson and Andy Masi, the Light Group have already enjoyed a successful debut in Sin City with the opening of Light Nightclub at the Bellagio Hotel in 2001. A follow-on from the success of of Jet Lounge (1996) and Light Lounge (2000) in uptown Manhattan, New York, the company's portfolio expanded further still, with the classy lounge bars Caramel at the Bellagio and Mist at the Treasure Island Hotel opening in 2005, along with the JET and STACK meet 'n' eat venues later that year. It's an umbrella brand never content to stick with what it has, yet has been revered for starting a new benchmark for fine dining and entertainment, in a city where change has become vital in surviving the economic downturn.
Elegance and modernism are the defining characteristics of all Light Group properties, although every premises differs wildly from the next. BRAND Lounge (like Caramel) remains sympathetic to all the trappings of a vintage Vegas lounge-club, including the vital aesthetics such as mirror-polished dark wood paneling and sharp lines of contrasting color to bounce light. Although the entire restaurant and lounge combined comprise some 14,000 square feet, the BRAND Lounge is a more intimate 5,000 square foot space, punctuated by a focal white marble-topped bar and neutral soft furnishings.
With it's emphasis upon sophistication and aesthetic treats (including blown glass sculptures and metallic wall art), you could be forgiven for thinking BRAND Lounge conforms to the 'see and be seen' stereotype venue, but once dinner service ends at 9 pm, the bar transforms into a socialites playground. Friday and Saturday nights play host to Las Vegas favorites DJ Dilemma and Guy Williams churning out the best in chart and dance, while weekdays are reserved for a more relaxed vibe – occasionally even live piano serenades. Plasma screens throughout provide visual entertainment in the form of live lounge feeds (from different angles) and popular music videos.
Like the majority of Light Group venues, BRAND Lounge has become as much known for it's cocktails, as it has it's décor. Old favorites such as the “Concord” and “Cable Car” nestle amid tantalizing taste-sensations such as “Tangerine Dream” and “Impeared”. They might be fruity and fun, however most frequent BRAND for it's healthy Bourbon selection – the perfect post-dinner compliment!
