Andre's French Restaurant
The "André" in "André's" is André Rochat, who is also the executive chef of Alizé. Besides Alizé, he owns and operates two upscale, French fine dining restaurants in Las Vegas, one downtown and one in the Monte Carlo Hotel and Casino on the Strip. Each is named "André's." The Monte Carlo location has the added benefit of a very impressive room, furnished in an elegant, Louis XVI style. The downtown restaurant, established in 1980, is in an older home in a quieter area of the city. Yet, people flock to the restaurant, and it is always very busy. Examples of creative menu items are the mustard-crusted rack of lamb, the braised lamb ravioli with puréed chestnuts, filet mignon -- traditional au poivre in cognac crème sauce or tartare with arugula and potato pancakes, venison prepared with savory fruits and vegetables, and soufflés of all sorts, including for desert. André prides himself on his selection of fine wines and his collection of ports. The menu rotates and changes daily.
