Gallagher's Steakhouse

New York's landmark steakhouse, Gallagher's, lives on in Vegas at the New York New York resort. True to modern trends, the kitchen is open for public view, and it is beautiful. The rest of the dining room is decorated in warm and elegant dark woods and fabrics, accented with memorabilia -- photos of celebrities from the movies and sports. The restaurant is large, with a capacity of nearly 300. Those who know the original Gallagher's in New York City will instantly feel right at home. There is the trademark bar -- big and inviting, with room for a couple dozen patrons to overlook the restaurant scene. Like the New York inspiration, this Gallagher's features enormous cuts of dry-aged beef, expertly cooked. A non-beef alternative might be the Maryland crab cakes -- a true delicacy. Add an Australian lobster tail to the steak for the world's most impressive "Surf 'n Turf." Every day there is a catch of the day, fresh, served with herb risotto. Among the many desert choices, they have "Death by Chocolate."
