House of Lords Steakhouse
The Sahara is one of Las Vegas’ most traditional hotels, and the House of Lords Steakhouse is perhaps the city’s most traditional steakhouse. Elegant and “old school,” the decor and menu are reminiscent of previous eras of grandeur. A recent renovation has added a Moroccan touch. House of Lords has also added a few more contemporary selections to its menu as well. The Dusk & Dark (for two) is a bargain, offered early (before 6) and late (after 9). It includes a first course, a main dish and dessert. Choices include sirloin steak, mahi-mahi and breast of chicken. The menu includes standbys’ like steak tartar, shrimp, crab cakes, and steakhouse salads. Lamb, veal and beef are served with time-honored sauces. Surf and turf, of course, is a centerpiece of the menu. Besides lobster, House of Lords also serves mahi-mahi (dorado) and salmon, as well as scallops and shrimp. The de rigueur New York cheese cake leads the desert portion of the menu.
