Red 8
Red 8 is an Asian restaurant at the Wynn Las Vegas, specializing in Southeast Asian and Cantonese food. The ambiance is bright and pleasant. The décor is casual and comfortable, with a dominant red decorative color, of course, and lots of Asian accent pieces. Chef Hisham Johari (formerly of Noodles at Bellagio) was trained in Malaysia and brings influences from Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia into his cuisine. The flavors of Red 8 are exotic, and create new sensations when dining on the roast duck and barbecued pork combination plate, a signature dish, or the sweet potato-sage porridge; or the beef stew, prepared in the Mandarin style. Red 8 also serves chicken satays with peanut sauce (a Malaysian treat) and pot stickers from Canton. Dim-sum comes in many different kinds. Wok-fried noodles (like Phad Thai) are on the menu, too, with shrimp and other ingredients. The chef and staff take full advantage of tropical fruits like mango, coconut and litchi nuts to make exotic deserts and cocktails.
