StripSteak
With Strip Steak, renowned chef Michael Mina has created a steakhouse in Mandalay bay that flees the usual mold and is combined with a modern and sophisticated bar made of glass and iron. StripSteak thus is a great meeting and mingling place as well as an innovative and swank steak restaurant. Adding to the conventional fare, StripSteak offers a dish of slow-poached prime ribs and another of Kobe beef short ribs (with horseradish puree). Another specialty is the grilled lobster, accompanied with risotto and a sauce made from sweet corn. Mina also has a soup and sandwich offering on the menu – a lobster BLT with crème of tomato. The centerpiece of this open-kitchen restaurant is the grill. Really, there are two of them, each twelve feet long, and each burning a different kind of wood. Slow-poached dishes are cooked at low temperature for many hours, infusing flavor and imparting tenderness to the meats. Entrées are then finished in a wood oven. A glass-encased wine closet is open to public inspection. Two small dining rooms are available for private parties.
