Las Vegas Premium Outlets
There's nothing like a glorious summer Saturday for a spot of window shopping, maybe a stop-off at Starbucks or even giving in to temptation and sloping off for a three course at Italia Express. Now imagine accomplishing such an afternoon beneath the unrelenting Nevada desert sun, within an oasis of color, excitement and designer outlets to suit even the most finicky of shoppers. The Las Vegas Premium Outlets Center presents the dream-scape of shopaholics the world over. Premier upscale boutiques such as Marc Ecko: Cut and Sew, Charlotte Ruse and Michael Kors operate harmoniously alongside the Nike Town and Banana Republic Factory stores – perfect for the elusive bargain, or an unplanned splurge for your separates wardrobe!
Prior to it's opening in 2003, Las Vegas was a barren landscape when it came to retail therapy. A smattering of shops existed within the atriums of casinos, coupled with The Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace Hotel – nearly all of which were the upscale kind of designer boutiques synonymous with New York's 5th Avenue. The sprawling Las Vegas Premium Outlets complex sought to bridge the obvious void with an equal blend of high end boutiques and high street brands, across some 460,000 square feet of space. Since it's expansion in 2008, the outdoor shopping forum has become known as the premier destination for bargain hunters visiting Las Vegas. Did we add it's only five minutes drive from the Strip?
Situated down at Charleston Boulevard on the 15 Interstate, the North section of Las Vegas Premium Outlets is the largest of the two diversified shopping areas – although both house an equal slew of popular stores. Premium North slightly overshadows the Southern Center, with a wider choice of prestigious designer clothing outlets, including Elie Tahari, D & G and Prada. A wealth of surplus stock stores also exist catering to those with a passion for expensive fashion; the Hugo Boss and Guess Factory Stores being among the most frequented by first-timers to Sin City. The City of Sin would of course not be so without a handful of tempting chocolate boutiques added to the melange of prospects. The Fudgery and Godiva Chocolatier offer a realm of chocolate and candy-crafts to suit those with a sweet tooth for luxury – a stark contrast to the Willy Wonka world of badness at Fuzziwig's Candy Factory. One must remember in describing such outlets that almost everything in the U.S.A is super-sized, therefore it's recommendable to allocate a serious portion of your day if you're thinking about exploring either complex.
Mega savings and dirt cheap discounts remain the key reason that Premium Outlets enjoys such an unparalleled reputation. Regardless of the time of year, there are almost always 20-30 sales underway at any one time and it's not just the big brands like Nike Town and Benetton dropping the RRP's. Check out Fossil, Guess and Lucky Brand Jeans around mid-July if you're on the scout for gifts!
