Stratosphere Tower Shops
Does Las Vegas shine more brightly by day or by night? Opinions might be divided when it comes to the glorious cityscape views of Las Vegas, but from a height of 1,149 feet above the Strip, Stratosphere Tower steals the title for best viewpoint anywhere in the city. It also happens to be one of the premier shopping precincts of Las Vegas, with a bevy of brand name outlets and designer boutiques to fulfill your every whim.
Erected in 1996, Stratosphere was unveiled during a time of economic revolution in Las Vegas. Keen to distance itself from the mob pit reputation of old, Las Vegas slowly evolved into a family-friendly city with the showiest examples of decadence and luxury on the planet. It has since become one of the most popular cities on the “must see before you die” travel brochure lists, owing to its Utopian idyll. Stratosphere Tower, Hotel and Casino was conceived around the same time the implosion boom began, setting a precedent for the chain of mesmerizing concepts rolled out by hotelier companies over the years. The tower would include the largest casino of the time (encompassing an area over 80,000 square feet) coupled with a 2,400 room hotel and outlandish rides that would achieve a number of world firsts. At the heart of this luxury concept was the Stratosphere Mall, a place where the levels of retail choice and luxury would outrank any other shopping center in Las Vegas.
Located at the main entrance to the tower between the bustling casino and hotel foyers, Stratosphere Shopping Mall clusters over 50 stores, 15 carts and numerous beauty outlets/ spas within an area designed to reflect the charisma of world shopping capitals. From Paris and Hong Kong, to London and New York, you'll find a well planned array of stores that embody some aspect of their repute. Decidedly small, yet oozing Parisienne chic, Pour L'Homme (for men) carries several high fashion collections well suited to the contemporary male, with Leatherland just doors away if you're looking for a great jacket. Vegas themed stores are populous, the aptly named Las Vegas Magic Shop dazzling with never seen before packaged tricks and David Copperfield souvenirs, along with a large collection of fancy dress gear for Halloween gaffes.
No visit to Vegas would be complete without securing your very own piece of wearable bling as a memento. Romancing couples will adore Ring Master, a world of diamonds and white gold bands sure to give your boyfriend a well meaning hint, if all other strategies have failed. Unique Collectibles houses an extensive range of fashionable jewelry – some even carrying a Las Vegas theme. If you're stuck for gift or souvenir ideas, this place is just the ticket. With outlets at both Miracle Mile and Stratosphere, Dimensions in Gold promises untold wealth of vintage inspired delights perfect for you or that special someone.
Any man worth his salt will vouch for the fact that shopping with women soon takes its toll. For a breath of fresh air, head to Las Vegas' only oxygen bar “Breathe” where, for five times less than a set of Cartier earrings, you can indulge yourself on a tank of pure oxygen. With your senses aroused and a spring in your step, polish off the afternoon with some much needed pampering at unisex Aqua Spa. Offering holistic therapies, various massage treatments and an oasis of tranquility amid the bustle of the mall, Aqua is the perfect place to unwind before you contemplate defying gravity upon the infamous Big Shot thrill ride!
