BB Kings Classic Soul Dinner and Show
You don’t have to go all the way to New Orleans for some great lip smacking down-home cooking and steamy soul music. What you want, baby, they’ve got it - from savory southern cooking to soulful rhythms or hot music - you’ll feel like you’re rollin’ south down the Mississippi at BB Kings Classic Soul Dinner.
The Memphis All-Star Band and the Grant Garland Band play a collection of songs by artists that defined the soul genre, including BB King, Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Tina Turner, Otis Redding, Sly and the Family Stone and Stevie Wonder. Do we need to say more?
The Memphis All-Star Band uses a full horn selection to funk-it-out, with nine pieces total. The Great Garland Band uses Grant Garland to play a range of musical instruments including the piano, the guitar, the flugelhorn and the trumpet to take the musical experience to the max.
You’ll hear everything from Motown to classic rock. There’s no soul without some blues and of course. Its all music that’ll make you feel alright. Dig?
Before the show, you’ll have an hour to chill, order your meal, and chat up your friends. The restaurant was designed perfectly to make sure everyone has an excellent view of the stage where you can enjoy the show with over a plate of friend-chicken or get on the dance floor and boogie.
Rib-sticking meals include Gumbo Ya Ya, ribs, filet mignon and Carolina BBQ salmon. Enjoy sides of crispy fries and southern-style hush puppies. Drink some unique, southern-style cocktails like the Hootchie Cootchie. You can also try some bangin’ banana bread pudding.
As you might expect, the restaurant has a casual atmosphere, though there’s no smoking except out on the patio. The place has a steamy, intimate feel recalling the great times and spicy grooves of yesteryear.
Reservations are strongly suggested.
