If it's fluffy, he can train it! Las Vegas is no stranger to animal stunt shows, although, when the billboards promote BIG cat stunts, one usually imagines a revue of Siegfried and Roy proportions. Cue the exception to the norm: Gregory Popovich. A former ring master and animal whisperer with the Moscow State Circus, Gregory Popovich has an affinity with animals that no human can really grasp – particularly felines. Keen to break with tradition and ruffle a few manes, Gregory Popovich introduced his wacky domestic pet circus to the world in 2009 at V Theater, Planet Hollywood Resort. Following a lengthy world tour and publication of his acclaimed stage guidance book “You CAN Train Your Cat”, he's back; bigger, bolder and more eccentric than ever before with “The World Famous Popovich Comedy Pet Theater”.

“Comedy Pet Theater” is a world first for numerous reasons – namely the huge proliferation of feathered and furry domesticated pets whom make up 80% of the show's enigmatic cast. From dogs proficient in long division and jumping rope, to pram pushing kitties and train driving doves, Gregory Popovich Comedy Pet Theater showcases the unbelievable talent of rescued animals from every corner of the globe. But, this isn't a revue exploiting for personal gain. In a recent interview with LasVegas.com's Jeannie Borbe, Popovich explained: "I do nothing against nature. You cannot make [them] do what they don't like to do." Perhaps a bold statement from a man who dresses cats in rhinestone embellished tutus, but, in watching the show, it really does seem as if his band of strays revel in every moment of each act. Sebastian, one of Popovich's early feline additions is much like any cat off stage. He adores his chin being tickled and a salmon dinner, but out on stage, he is equally in his element carting off a baby Collie, dressed as an Edwardian gent! Likewise, primadonna puss Kristy enjoys languishing in the lap off luxury off-stage, yet tackles her pole dancing skit with all the vigor of a “Fantasy” revue dancer as soon as the spotlights go up!

There are few revues in the world that are as passionately dedicated to the rescue of animals as “Comedy Theater” and according to Popovich, his all-star cast is only set to get bigger. A 60-minute roller-coaster of side splitting juggling acts, drum riding cats and Dachshund dance troupes (led by daughter Anastasie), this magnificent circus show is an enduring feat of unbelievable stunts and skits. There's just one problem: the cute factor may well have you queuing up for more than one matinée performance!
