Show Bus of The Stars
Fancy hopping aboard a celebrity tour bus as a bona fide VIP? It's something most of us have probably dreamed about during our teenage revelry; swapping numbers with Lennon; supping post-gig bubbly with Cher and Madonna, or being serenaded by the legend that is Stevie Wonder. For some, the unfortunate reality is that it will never happen – at least with some of the original icons of pop, but Show Bus of The Stars could be the next best thing! Vegas' newest on tour experience beckons passengers with the promise of enthralling entertainers, glittering Sin City views and the chance to relive the heady days of mayhem, tagging along with some of the biggest names in music.
OK, so maybe it is a little far fetched to believe Sammy Davis Junior and Cher would ever rock out on the same tour bus, but this is Las Vegas: the city that makes fantasy a flamboyant, 3D reality. Forget fancy trams and city hoppers, Show Bus of The Stars happens to be the newest and coolest way to get around Sin City, with the crème de la crème of its celebrity impersonators in tow. Snatched from it's former retirement home in London's East End, Show Bus underwent only minor restoration before its anticipated debut in July 2010. Pitched as Las Vegas' premier “floating stage”, Show Bus conveniently embarks on its nightly 90-minute voyage from Miracle Mile Shops, mere yards from the rock 'n' roll Planet Hollywood Resort.
Some say there's no better way to appreciate the scale of Las Vegas than with an aerial tour, but then you'd be forgoing the melange of spectacular free shows performed nightly along the Strip. Show Bus stop-offs include the scintillating Bellagio Fountain and Light show at 7 pm, followed by an entire act of “Sirens” at Treasure Island Resort. It's not all showbiz. The Show Bus stops off at a number of poignant historical landmarks on the sightseeing trail, including gangster Benjamin 'Bugsy' Siegel's opulent Flamingo Hotel and the Golden Gate Casino, built in 1906. Along the route, passengers are treated to a bountiful narrative of fascinating facts courtesy of a “Charlie Daniels” lookalike. With 24 seats up top and 44 below, Show Bus is proportionate enough to be comfortable, affording great views to passengers on either deck. A state-of-the-art sound system relays Daniel's tour facts throughout the tour bus, so even if you can't make it to up top, you won't miss out.
Show Bus' touring performers comprise a rotational cast of celebrity guest impersonators, with around three star guests boarding for each 90 minute tour. Due to this system, you'll never quite know who you're going to get until Daniel's orders the band to strike up! From Marilyn Monroe, Janet Jackson and Cher, to Sammy Davis Jr, Frank and the “Pack”, Show Bus features an eclectic cast that include a slew of familiar Legends in Concert faces. All aboard for a journey through the golden years of pop!
