Tournament of Kings
Epic combat, festive wenches and delicious feasts await you at Tournament of Kings. Where else would Tournament of the Kings be than the Excalibur – Vegas’ medieval-themed resort?
Eat chicken with your fingers while watching warriors repel invading armies on horses through the fog. Pyrotechnics and strobe lights highlight the intense action in the arena. Jousting knights test their skills in full armor.
The arena is divided into seven sections representing different countries and a dark knight section. The whole scene looks like a fantasy arena with stone and dirt floors.
Root for the king in your section as he sends his knights into battle, sword fights, horse races, and gladiator combat. There’s also wizards, wenches and jesters to keep the entertainment high, telling audience members to cheer loud if they want their section to win.
There are also shirtless, muscle men for the maidens and wild acrobatics performing all sorts of tumbling acts.
The costumes were designed by Emmy award winner Michel Fresnay.
While the actors are highly trained, the acting is partially improvised. Therefore, each show is entirely different.
This is one of few shows in Vegas that is very kid friendly. Children under three eat for free as long as they sit in their parent’s lap. Food and drink have themed names like “Dragon’s Blood.” There’s Cornish hen, biscuits, and steamed vegetables.
The only break from the medieval experience is that there’s no ale, but there are sodas and alcoholic beverages for adults.
Towards the end of the night, Mordred the fire wizard tries to take over King Arthur’s kingdom and all of the knights band together to take on the dark knight.
Who will win the final battle of good versus evil? Join the Tournament of Kings to find out.
