Sapphire Las Vegas
Sweaty and sleazy? You've clearly never been to a Las Vegas gentlemen's bar – less, one on the scale and sophistication of Sapphires Club. The era of Playboy Bunnies may well be waning, seemingly making way for a whole new standard when it comes to strip revues and erotic entertainment, however the post Millennium breed of topless dance bars is going one better still. At 70,000 square feet, Sapphires Club is one of the largest and newest gentlemen's clubs to open just minutes from the Strip on Industrial Road, packing in two floors, four bars and a wealth of floor-to-ceiling video screens. The result? A sexy super-club with an ambiance and character on a par with Rok Vegas – only this one benefits from a different kind of rocking entertainment!
Launched in 2003, the purpose-built Sapphires building was part of an entrepreneurial plan to redevelop the Northern part of the Strip. Located almost parallel to the Wynn Encore and Trump International Hotel Resorts, Sapphires Club was close enough to the Strip to be accessible, yet far enough to cause the curious to hop on a bus or flag a taxi to get to. Realistically, Sapphires is less than a five minute drive from the heart of the entertainment empire, nestled on the left of the Industrial Road and accessed via footbridge from the pedestrian-friendly Fashion Show Drive.
Central to Sapphire's appeal is the distinctly laid back environment, despite it being a frequent haunt for innumerable celebrities. Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden held his bachelor extravaganza at Sapphires in 2009, swiftly followed by a feature visit from CBS host Craig Ferguson for a segment on his “Late Show With Craig Ferguson”. Kid Rock, Tommy Lee and the lads from Linkin Park are also rumored to have rocked up for nights of debauchery Sapphires style, along with Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne and Rihanna whom staked out the male performance area. Although a 500-capacity club, such entities tend to congregate beneath the perspex floored stage for an eyeful of the dancers, or within the VIP Skyboxes suspended from the first floor.
Young, fresh and designed to compete with the upmarket niche bars along the Strip, the general tone within Sapphires is one of uncluttered sophistication. Low-rise curved armchairs guard intimate coffee tables throughout the open-plan ground floor, complimented by rich reds and vibrant purples of the background walls. Four bars break up the space – each with a distinctly unique theme. Martini Bar lends itself to the classy cocktail elegance of the club, while the Rockstar Lounge beneath the stage caters for the champagne and bourbon crowd. It's a blend of old meets new which seamlessly come together in a highly stylized environment - enhanced by over 400 glamorous performers.
Catering for both bachelor and bachelorette parties, Sapphires achieves something that many Vegas clubs lack – the appeal of entertainment for a mixed gender audience. The “Men of Sapphire” cater for every female fantasy of the flesh and have become an overnight hit in their own right, with a brand new Friday evening revue upon the main stage. From bikers to cowboys and even a Michael Jackson impersonator, the guys guarantee a night of raucous laughter and sexy fun that continues long after the show is over!
