Tom McEvoy

Tom McEvoy has twelve books on poker strategy to his credit, either authored alone (on tournaments) or co-authored (with TJ Cloutier on Hold’em or with Max Stern & Linda Johnson on Stud). These books should be required reading for any player hoping to garner success at the game. He has also been a columnist for Card Player Magazine for several years.

McEvoy began his adult life as an accountant, and as such, he realized that poker, rather than accountancy was more interesting and profitable. So he moved to Las Vegas in 1979. IN 1983 Tom took four WSOP titles (1983 Limit Hold’em, 1983 Championship, 1986 Razz, 1992 Limit Omaha). He has finished in the money 27 times in WSOP events, and has been to the final table 22 times. He is a member of Team PokerStars.
